A quiet place to pause, reflect, and remember.
The Tranquility Garden is a community gift, created, planted, and dedicated by the Oak Ridge Lions Club for everyone who visits Oak Ridge, NC.
"Where there's a need, there's a Lion." The Tranquility Garden is one small answer, a living, growing place built by neighbors, for neighbors.
More than plants and stone
What you see here at Tranquility Garden is more than plants and stone, more than design, and more than a project completed. It is a place of memory, of gratitude, and of quiet reflection.
This memorial was created to honor the members of the Oak Ridge Lions Club who came before us, those who gave their time, their energy, and their hearts in service to others. These were individuals who believed deeply in something bigger than themselves. They served not for recognition, but because they cared.
When I first envisioned this memorial, the goal was simple: to create a space where their legacy would not fade. A place where future generations could pause, reflect, and understand that the work we do today is built on the shoulders of those who came before us.
Each name represented here tells a story. Stories of kindness, of leadership, of fellowship, and of commitment to this community.
From the Garden
A glimpse of the paths, plantings, and quiet corners.

Ways loved ones are remembered
Throughout the garden, Lions, family, and friends are honored in quiet, lasting ways.
Memorial Benches
Natural stone benches line the pathway, each carrying a small plaque on the base in memory of a Lion or loved one.
Memorial Trees
Trees planted throughout the garden grow in tribute, with a plaque at the base bearing the name of the Lion being honored.
Voices in the Wind
Wind chimes hung among the plantings carry a wind catcher inscribed with the name of someone remembered, Lions and community members alike.
If you'd like to honor someone by hanging wind chimes in the trees surrounding the garden, please reach out to a Lions Club member on our Facebook page.
